Waste Recycling Operative

Do you want to work as part of a small successful team?

We are looking to recruit a hardworking and reliable Waste Recycling Operative to work in our waste transfer yard. Experience in this field, including the driving of loading machinery, would be preferred but is not essential. Full training will be provided to the right candidate.Duties and responsibilities:

  • Sorting of waste, segregation and sorting of recyclable materials.
  • Hand pick and sort individual materials from the floor.
  • Operation of yard machinery.
  • Maintaining overall cleanliness of site.
  • Manual handling is involved.  This is a physical role.
  • Perform additional tasks as reasonably requested by management.

An ideal candidate will:

  • Be willing to attend training and work within Health and Safety Guidelines.
  • Have a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Good communication, cooperation and team working skills.
  • Be able to operate in a compliant manner in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to take personal responsibility and initiative for delivering high quality work.
  • Have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated with good problem-solving skills.
  • Openness and interest in learning and developing.
  • Be punctual and reliable.
  • Own transport is required as location is not convenient for public transport.

LGV Class 2 Skip Lorry Driver

Do you want to work as part of a small successful team?

We are looking to recruit a hardworking and reliable LGV Class 2 Skip Lorry Driver. Experience would be preferred but is not essential.

The duties of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Hold a Class 2 LGV Licence and capable of driving skip lorries
  • Professional approach to both the job and customer
  • Complete daily vehicle check sheets and defect reports
  • Strong work ethic and problem solving skills
  • Able to work flexible hours
  • Manual handling is involved
  • Willing to attend training and work within Health and Safety Guidelines

A successful candidate will:

  • Communicate effectively with customers and offer exceptional customer service
  • Be highly organised and able to multitask
  • High attention to detail and able to work under pressure
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • An understanding of Quickbooks (or a willingness to learn)
  • Feel comfortable working within a family business environment
  • Be enthusiastic and motivated to help grow the business and move forward with pride
