Before You Arrive: Who Can Tip and When
Our licensed waste transfer station in East Tuddenham (just off the A47) serves Norwich, Wymondham, Taverham and Swaffham. Follow site signage; the one-way system guides you through and marshals assist first-time visitors.

- Vehicle types: tippers, transits, vans and small flatbeds welcome.
- Larger rigids/HGVs by arrangement—please call ahead so we can plan bay access.
- See our tipping facilities for a layout and traffic flow overview.
Paperwork on Arrival: Quick Checklist
Bring the basics (paper or digital) for a smooth check‑in:

- Vehicle registration and job reference or site address.

Accepted Wastes (and What to Separate)
Clean, single‑material loads are quickest to process and usually cheapest. Please separate where possible.
- Clean loads: soil, hardcore, bricks and concrete.
- Mixed construction and demolition waste: wood, metal, plastics and packaging.
- Plasterboard (gypsum): accepted only if kept separate from other waste.
- Not accepted or by prior arrangement: asbestos, tyres, fridges/freezers, gas bottles, liquids and other hazardous or WEEE items.
We cannot accept hazardous items without the correct paperwork and prior agreement. Call us about special items or see our special wastes guidance. Clean, separated loads help us maintain our 99% recycling rate across Norwich and Norfolk.

Pre‑Sort for Speed: Loading and Segregation Basics
Load by material type so you can tip quickly on site. Keep hardcore together, wood together, metals stacked and cardboard bagged. A little prep saves time at the bays.
- Sheet and secure the vehicle to prevent spillages in transit.
- Keep contaminants out of clean loads (e.g. no plasterboard in hardcore).
- Use a small skip, cages or labelled bags on site to pre‑separate during the job.
On Site: Weighbridge to Tipping Bay
Pull onto the weighbridge and check in with the operator. Present your paperwork and a plain description of the load. You will be directed via the one‑way route to the correct bay.
- Follow all signage and use a banksman when reversing.
- Tip safely and clear any spills.
- Return to the weighbridge to re‑weigh and collect your ticket.
New to the site? Our team will guide you through each step so you can be on your way quickly.
Weighbridge Tickets, Pricing and VAT
Charges are based on material type and net weight (gross minus tare). Your ticket shows date/time, vehicle reg, gross/tare/net and material type—keep it with your job records for duty of care (retain waste transfer notes for two years).
Pay on account (for regular users) or pay on the day—card accepted. VAT is itemised on your receipt. For options, see our payment methods.
Quick‑Turnaround Etiquette
Help us keep everyone moving:
- Arrive ready—paperwork to hand and load secure.
- Keep to site speed limits and follow marshals.
- Remove straps only in the bay and switch off if queueing.
- Do not block crossings or the one‑way route.
- Protect recycling—no contamination in clean bays.
Clean loads support our 99% recycling rate and keep tipping prices fair.

FAQs
Do I need to book before tipping?
No—arrive during opening hours. At busy times or for unusual wastes, please call ahead so we can confirm bay availability and speed up your visit.
Can I tip plasterboard?
Yes, but it must be kept separate from mixed waste and hardcore. Tell the weighbridge operator on arrival so we can direct you to the correct bay and rate.
What if I forget my waste transfer note?
We can help you complete a basic note on site if you have the key details (producer, waste description and origin). Digital copies are fine.
How long does tipping take?
With paperwork ready and a sorted load, most visits are a quick turnaround. Peak periods are early mornings and mid‑afternoons, so allow extra time then.
Are there vehicle size limits?
Most vans, transits and small tippers are fine. Larger rigids or unusual vehicles are by arrangement—please call ahead so we can plan access and bay space.
How do I pay?
Trade accounts are available for regular users. Otherwise, pay on the day by card; VAT is itemised on your receipt. See our payment methods for details.
