What we accept
When a skip is collected it is transported back to our waste transfer station on the back of one of our skip lorries (Carrier Registered No. CBDU65054). Each load received on-site is weighed so we have a record of the amount of waste received.
The skip is then tipped and via the use of a manned picking line is sorted into the different waste streams:
Wood
Used for fuel, garden mulch or animal bedding.
Metal
bulk loaded and delivered to a local scrap metal merchant for reprocessing.
Brick/Concrete
crushed and re-used as hardcore for back filling, foundations or bases for concrete.
Excavation waste
screened and re-used as graded hardcore or soils.
Cardboard/paper
bulk loaded and delivered to a local recycling plant for reprocessing.
Green waste
bulk loaded for reprocessing and used as soil conditioner.
Plasterboard
bulk loaded and reprocessed where possible.
Plastic
bulk loaded and reprocessed where possible.
We have facilities available to accept waste directly into our waste transfer station.
It’s essential for all customers to possess a valid waste carrier’s licence to use our facilities.
